WHALE SHARK SNORKEL - KING'S NINGALOO REEF TOURS
The day begins at approx 7.30am when we pick you up from your accommodation in our courtesy, air-conditioned bus, and take you to Tantabiddy where our vessel awaits you. By 9am, you are snorkelling on beautiful Ningaloo Reef. A spotter plane begins looking for whale sharks and once spotted; your whale shark experience begins. As soon as the Whale Sharks are spotted, you will have the opportunity of swimming with these gentle giants. Morning tea, afternoon tea and a full buffet lunch with fresh prawns are included, as well as refreshments. The tour ends with a few more swims on the Ningaloo Reef, before heading back to your Accommodation at approximately 4.30pm. All snorkel gear also included in price, as well as wetsuit if required.

Whale sharks visit Ningaloo Reef from late March until late July each year. They are filter feeders and eat enormous amounts of plankton, krill and anchovies as they swim. Whale sharks are slow swimmers and move their entire bodies from side to side. They swim on the surface, so all you need to swim with them is a mask, snorkel and fins. Even though they are a shark, they are totally harmless and seem to enjoy the interaction with people.

There is some unfortunate evidence that the whale shark population around the world is decreasing. Some countries actually hunt and kill  these gentle giants, selling them off for thousands of dollars. Increased worldwide protection and bans on fishing would assist in the conservation of the majestic whale shark.

Hat, Sunscreen, Bathers, Beach Towel & Camera. There is a videographer available on board, selling dvds and videos of your day out (approximately $50-$60 per dvd depending on format. Ready the next day).

Minimum Number of 6 persons is required to confirm this tour. No Sighting Policy - Next available day free if no Whalesharks sighted. Price is inclusive of all snorkel gear (including wetsuit). We have 2 crew members in the water the whole time to assist you, which is safer than a safety zodiac. Our vessel is also a twin-screw vessel which means it's maneuverability in the water is much easier than most other boats. Our crew are experienced and have been with us for many years.
